Libby Help
I've been first in line for a hold for weeks or months. What's happening?
Your hold may not have been delivered because it's suspended. To check, go to Shelf > Holds and see if the hold says Unsuspend. If it does, your hold is suspended. Tap the button to unsuspend your hold. It will be delivered when the next copy is returned.
If your hold isn't suspended, here are other possible reasons it hasn't been delivered yet:
- The title hasn't been released yet.
- The title has expired from your library's collection, but it's still visible in Libby. Sometimes, libraries keep and allow holds on expired titles to decide if they want to buy more copies.
- The library has removed the title from their Libby collection.
- A user who placed a hold before you unsuspended their hold. When this happens, the user will retake their place in line and get a copy of the title first.
- In rare circumstances, a library patron may get priority on a hold when their library branch purchases extra copies of a title for specifically their own patrons.
