Discovering titles with Inspire Me

Inspire Me is a fun and interactive way to discover titles at your library using filters or one of your tags.

To enable Inspire Me, tap Search and enter #InspireMe into the search box. Once enabled, Libby's Menu icon in the footer updates to the latest Libby menu icon, which looks like the Libby logo.

Note: This feature uses generative AI to create inspirations and find matching titles at your active library. No data about you or your device is shared with the large language model (LLM) while using Inspire Me. If you use Inspire Me with a tag, only the titles saved to your tag are shared with the LLM. Please review our AI statement for more details.

Inspire Me with fiction or nonfiction

To get recommendations based on filters and a characteristic:

  1. Tap Menu and select fiction or nonfiction.
  2. Select adults, teens, or kids as the audience. Your content controls may limit which audiences can be selected.
  3. Select a characteristic.
  4. Select an inspiration to see five title recommendations from Libby. Recommendations can be borrowed or saved to a tag. Tap More for additional details about a title.
    Note: Libby prioritizes available titles, but if an unavailable title is recommended, you will see Place Hold or Notify Me instead of Borrow.
  5. Tap part of your finished prompt (fiction or nonfiction, audience, characteristic, or inspiration) to select different answers and continue exploring.

Inspire Me with a tag

Note: A random selection of titles from your tag is used with Inspire Me. No other details about you or your device (including the name and description of your tag) are used to generate inspirations or recommendations. Learn more about Libby & Artificial Intelligence.

To use a tag with Inspire Me, it needs to have at least 20 titles for juvenile, young adult, or general audiences saved to it. Magazines, mature content, and titles restricted by your content controls don't count toward this total.

To get recommendations based on a tag:

  1. Tap Menu and select tag.
  2. Select a tag to use.
  3. Select an inspiration to see five title recommendations from Libby. Recommendations can be borrowed or saved to a tag. Tap More for additional details about a title.
    Note: Libby prioritizes available titles, but if an unavailable title is recommended, you will see Place Hold or Notify Me instead of Borrow.
  4. Tap the chosen inspiration at the top of the screen to explore other recommendations for this tag.
